Lacey & Jessie | Best Friends

Wine. Mason jars. Dirt roads. Country music. This was the perfect combination for Lacey and her best friend Jessie's photo session last weekend.

I've known Lacey for a number of years now. We met in college at K-State and had several Apparel Marketing classes together. I have always admired her passion and drive for success. She is such a girl's girl and super fun! She happened to be in Wichita visiting her best friend Jessie and thought it would be fun to meet up for a photo shoot!

This was one of my favorite sessions because I felt like I was just hanging out with an old friend (and made a new one at that!) We found some dirt roads, Lacey brought some wine and a couple of mason jars, and cranked up the country music. Perfect.

 Lacey has a scarf business on the side called Love Lace. For every scarf she sells, she donates one to a homeless shelter. If you are interested, let me know. I'll put you in touch with her!

Ladies, thank you so much for doing this session. It was such a blast!

Jack Duke | 1 Year

As I reflect back on the last year documenting the growth of Jack, I feel so blessed. As a photographer, it is my job to take pictures of special moments for people to cherish for the rest of their lives. But, it's so much more than that to me. I get to experience the beauty in every moment of the most important times in people's lives. I think that capturing these beautiful memories for people has taught me so much more about life and love than I ever thought it would.

Chyleina and Cory are the first family to sign up for my "Baby's First Year" package. I first met them for their maternity shoot at Loose Park over a year ago. I could tell they had SO much love for one another and I was so excited to capture their love, excitement, and anticipation for their new baby.

I have not only been able to document the growth of Jack over his first year but I have witnessed the growth of Cory and Chyleina in their first year as parents. I truly feel blessed beyond measure to have been able to experience life with this family, even if just for 1-2 hours every 3 months.

Cory and Chyleina invited me to Jack's 1st birthday party. Chyleina always has the CUTEST ideas and is so creative. Here are some shots of the party.

The Herron's came over to my house to finish up Jack's session and here are some of my favorite photos. This kid can't get any cuter. He has the world at his fingertips. :)

This post is so bitter sweet for me. Bitter because I won't get to see them as often and sweet because I got to be a part of it. I created a little video slideshow of some of my favorite photos from each of Jack's sessions. Enjoy!

To the Herron family, it's been an absolute pleasure getting to know you! Thanks so much for letting me in on your lives for Jack's 1st year!

The Sharp Family

I met Joshua and Rose last summer when they contacted me to take their family photos. They had heard about my photography through some mutual friends of ours. Joshua and Rose have two little girls and they are absolutely adorable.

Their youngest, London, just turned one so they wanted to get some photos for her as well as some updated family photos! I always enjoy hanging out with this family and seeing their little girls who are so cute and full of energy! Here are my favorites!

The Zimmers | Family

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to take family photos for the Zimmers family. I have taken this family's photos before back in April at my Spring Mini Session and they have the CUTEST kids. They recently had another baby and wanted to get some updated family photos and newborn pictures. Here are some of my favorites!

The Reddy / Huggins Family

I met Kiran and Joey just over a year ago, through my husband, at a function for his work. They are such great people and so fun to be around. So, when they asked me to take their family photos this year, I was so excited! Kiran and Joey are such light-hearted and kind people, I knew their family would be the same.

It was a beautiful, sunny day at Liberty Memorial. Not too cold, not too hot. We began the session with a view overlooking Union Station and downtown KC.

Later, we moved down to the grassy area in front of Liberty Memorial.

The sunset was so beautiful. I really wanted to capture this family in the "golden hour" before the sun goes down. 

I love when my clients are up for anything and willing to do fun things for photography sessions. This family has such a fun spirit. I think they laughed together throughout the entire session which, was so fun for me to photograph.
